Veneto is a hidden gem in Rochester’s ever-changing East End…and it’s just a 4-minute walk from your apartment. While many restaurants in that area seem to come and go, Veneto has had a steady presence for the last 18 years. Their open kitchen and brick oven make for a lively and cozy atmosphere. Veneto is great for date nights, cocktails with coworkers, or pizza with the family.

They boast being the “original wood fired pizza” in town and their pizzas do not disappoint. Try the “Bianca,” a white pizza with oregano infused oil, prosciutto, artichokes, caramelized onions, provolone and mozzarella cheese…or the hearty “Cheddar, Bacon, and Broccoli” pizza with a provolone-mozzarella blend. And if you prefer the classics, their Margherita pizza with pomodoro sauce, fresh mozzarella and basil will win your heart.

If it’s date night, the arancini paired with a salad is an excellent starter. Their entrees include pasta, chicken and seafood options. The shrimp and scallop scampi is our favorite, but the homemade ricotta gnocchi is a close second. They also offer the usual favorites – chicken parmesan and chicken marsala. And if you like to finish your meal with il dolce, their cannoli and tiramisu will not disappoint! It’s also worth mentioning that they offer gluten free pasta by request.
