If you live at VIDA, you’re probably a big fan and user of technology. After all, you’re getting Greenlight Networks fiber internet with your apartment or townhome. So, there’s a good possibility you’re using AirPods – the super popular and convenient earbuds for Apple device users. But let’s be real, after a while, they can get pretty gross and full of germs. That’s where cleaning and sterilizing them comes in!

First things first, turn off your AirPods by popping them back into their case and shutting the lid. This will disconnect them from any devices and put them in sleep mode. Before you take them out again, make sure to turn off Bluetooth on any nearby devices.

Now, it’s time to clean those ear tips and grilles! Just grab a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or a little brush and gently remove any visible dirt or debris. An old toothbrush can work really well for this. No liquids, please! We don’t want to damage those bad boys.

To really get them germ-free, you’ll want to use a UV-C light sterilizer. These things are awesome and can kill up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. Plus, they’re super handy for other things like jewelry, keys, and even toothbrushes. You can grab one for less than 20 bucks!

Just pop your AirPods in the chamber and hit the button to activate the UV-C light. Wait about 5-10 minutes, and voila! Sterilized and ready to go.

Oh, and don’t forget about your AirPod case! You can clean and sterilize it the same way.

Finally, reconnect those AirPods and jam out to your favorite tunes with clean and germ-free earbuds.
